If you are a AAA member or are looking for travel services such as AAA offers, you should read this.
Referring to the Myrtle Beach ordinances that discriminate against bikers: "AAA Carolinas called the law part of 'an attempt to put a damper on the two huge motorcycle rallies held annually, for about 70 years, in the city, often resulting in fatalities.'" (Any time there are hundreds of thousands of vehicles together in one area, there will be accidents, including fatalities, but they make it sound like something statistically unusual or preventable.) In the following article, look at the fourth bullet point under AAA Carolina's "green light" (they approve/support) in South Carolina: http://thesunnews.typepad.com/tourism/2008/12/myrtle-beach-bi.html AAA Carolinas is not interested in our safety, but rather in lowering insurance company risks. Fine, but we don't need to be paying them to oppose us, either. If you are looking for a roadside service that covers your motorcycle(s) and cage(s), check out the American Motorcyclist Association. Their MOTOW service is now included free with an AMA membership. And they are not working against us, but with us.
