Yes, you read that correctly.  While I'm all for "Motorcycle Awareness" education, part of the problem is little to no penalty for murdering innocent bikers because you weren't paying attention to driving.

In this latest example, a woman was reportedly painting her fingernails, while driving down the road.  She rammed into Anita Zaffke, who was sitting on her bike at a red light.  The penalty? "She was cited with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident"

We need legislation to make serious penalties for killing someone in order for some people to actually pay attention when they get behind the wheel of a cage.

I had someone run into me while I was stopped at a red light several years ago.  It was good it was only 10-15 MPH or I would probably not be around to mention it.  Now I watch my mirrors every time I stop or slow down quickly.
