Some South Carolina Legislators have introduced the following Bills pertaining to "mopeds"(3123,3255,3268,3291,221,328).I believe these require us (motorcyclist) watching, just to stay on the safe side.
Most of these bills are  attempting to removed the definition of moped and declare it the same as a motor vehicle.  One bill (if passed) will require strobe lights on mopeds and the rider must wear a yellow reflective vest (Should be require for bicycles) and other safety equipment (helmet?).

I believe if these bills receive this type of attention that motorcycles will be doomed some where along this road. Moped accidents will be counted as a motorcycle, drivers license and insurance requirements, etc will change. Believe it or not, these will affect you the motorcyclist. All these statistics' will be included and counted as two wheel motor vehicles.

I'd like to suggest each of you to look up and study these bills, read for yourself, determine your view/opinion then call your legislators and voice your thoughts to them for action.

You can utilize these web sites to look up the bills by number or type in the word "moped", and also to locate your legislator's contact info: www.scstatehouse.net or www.abatesc.com

If you should require some assistance, contact me and I'll try to help.
